Tip of the Day- Bright Accessories

A collection of brightly colored accessories is an easy way to bring some interest to an all white kitchen.  For example adding a collection of complementary pottery to a shelf.  Tie that together with dish towels and place mats in the same color to complete the look. The pop of color will add some drama and  pizazz to an otherwise plain space.  For more great ideas visit www.cheapchicdecor.com.

Fresh Geometric Look

Geometric shapes are a big hit this season.  We have been seeing chevrons, hexagons, trapezoids etc. on accessories, furniture, draperies and wall coverings. A geometric shape design is a fabulous way to freshen up your decor.  For a subtle way to add this look to your decor, try a few throw pillows with a geometric fabric on your sofa or an accent chair with great geometric upholstery. Easy Way To Add Personality To Your Dining Table

Using a different type of chair for the head and foot of the table is a great way to change up the look of your dining room.  When all of the chairs around your table are the same style it can look plain.  By adding chairs that complement the rest of the set, for example using same upholstery color or fabric,  you will add interest and pizazz to the space. Decorating With White

Painting a room a shade of white is an instant way to make your space look fresh and clean.  White walls will also make a space feel brighter and more spacious.  When you use white on your walls it is better to go with a shade with a touch of color in it, such as cream or gray, instead of a pure white.  Choose a brighter white in a room that needs more light in it and go with an ivory or darker white in a space that has more natural light.  In a white room it is still a good idea to have a contrast of color between your walls and the trim work.  It is easy to achieve this by painting your trim a brighter or purer shade of white than your wall color.  For more great ideas visit www.cheapchicdecor.com.

How to Hang Mirrors

We are often asked, "What is the correct height to hang a mirror on a wall?"  A good rule of thumb is that the mirror's center should hang about 5 feet from the floor.  For more decorating ideas visit www.cheapchicdecor.com.

How To Accessorize Collectibles

It is sometimes difficult to choose the best way to display your collectibles.  We like to arrange items into themed collections to make a decorative statement, instead of scattering them around the room which can feel like clutter.  Cluster 3 or more pieces together in a grouping. For example, 4 decorative plates arranged together, several landscape photographs hung together, or 5 pieces of shells and driftwood from your last vacation.
