"Color Splash" Mediterranean Makeover
I recently saw an episode of HGTV's Color Splash with David Bromstad, which featured a Mediterranean home makeover. He showed how easy it is to blend Tuscan decor with other styles, in this case glam, eclectic and rustic. Bromstad redecorated 6 spaces in a Mediterranean styled home. The historic Bonnet House in Ft. Lauderdale was used as an inspiration for the project. The show gave a lot of information on how to pick just the right paint color for your space. David Bromstad mentioned that you don’t have to use bright Tuscan colors on your walls to create a Tuscan feel in the space. His use of more muted colors, enhanced the Mediterranean features in the home. I especially loved the dark, rich woodwork in the home and the way he incorporated an antique carved door into an elaborate fireplace decoration. Overall, it was an interesting take on Tuscan decorating.
