Decorate for Spring

Spring is in the air. Now is the time to make small changes in your décor to reflect the change in season.

An easy way to change up your space for spring is to change the accent colors in your room. This could be accomplished by changing your tablecloths, placemats, accent pillows, or doormats. Use lighter, brighter colors for spring. You can also change the colors of the candles in your candleholders. Some people even change the color of their couch slipcovers to reflect changes in season.

Plants are a great way to bring the feeling of spring to your home by brining new blossoms from outside, in. Plant your plants in brightly colored ceramic pots, planters or urns. If you use potpourri in your home now would be the time to switch to a lighter scent for spring. In addition, get ready for fresh fruits and flowers. Have plenty of vases on hand to display fresh flowers. Place decorative bowls filled with fruit on the kitchen counter and table.

Get ready for spring in your home by making small changes in the colors and accents you use reflecting the changes occurring outside. Simple changes like adding plants and using lighter colors will bring a feeling of spring inside your home. Tuscan Colors

Tuscan decorating brings the colors of Mother Nature into your home.  Typical colors used to bring a Tuscan feel to a room are earth tones such as warm shades of brown, red, yellow and green. One way to achieve this is by choosing one of these colors for the paint on your walls.  This palate can also be brought into your room with the accessories you choose.  For example, colorful plates hung on a wrought iron plate rack will bring an Old World feel to your space.  Warm red throw pillows and ceramic or terra cotta vases filled with flowers will add a Tuscan look to your living room.  Colorful backsplash tiles and a rustic, dark wood farmhouse table will bring a classic Italian feel to your kitchen.  Tuscan colors create a warm and inviting space.  I love to use burgundy, olive green and a warm yellow gold when creating a Tuscan palate in a room.  Overall, it is easy to bring the feeling of Tuscany to your space with warm colors in your accessories and wall décor.  Check out the expansive selection of Tuscan wall décor and accessories available at

Wine Storage Can Make A Statement

Wine storage can be both practical and decorative. It is not limited to traditional wine cabinets and freestanding racks anymore. There are many whimsical and decorative wine holders available that can provide a convenient place to store some bottles as well as providing wall decoration. How you choose to store your wine can make a statement about you.

Wine cabinets and racks are more than just places to store bottles and glasses today. They are decorative additions to your home. They are useful to have on hand where you cook, eat and entertain. The storage can be traditional or unique.

A traditional wine cabinet or rack with open or closed storage for bottles and wine glasses is a great addition in any dining room or living room. Cabinets are constructed of wood and range from tall pieces to buffet size cabinets. Racks can be made of wood, iron or metal. They come in many shapes and sizes. Smaller racks can be placed on a counter, mounted under a cabinet, or placed on the floor. Larger racks can even be designed as an accent table, providing a decorative addition to your room.

Many decorative options are also available for wine storage today. Some wine racks are designed as wall art. They will add color and interest to your wall, as well as providing a useful place to store a few bottles. A brightly colored metal wall art rack is a great fit for a dining room. A playful iron pouring wine bottle would be a nice wall décor for a kitchen or casual dining room.

When choosing your wine storage solution, it is necessary to take into account the room you are going to use it in. Is your room formal or informal, traditionally furnished or modern? The storage piece you purchase should blend with your existing décor. For example, a whimsical waiter wine stand might not be the perfect choice for a formal dining room.

The amount of storage you need and the space you have available is also important to consider. An under the cabinet mounted rack would be a great option for a small apartment. A tall traditional wood cabinet would be ideal for a large room with high ceilings.

With the many wine storage options available today, it is easy to find the right storage for your home. Overall, remember to consider the type of storage you need as well as the décor of the room you are going to use it in. Check out the wide array of wine storage options that are available at

Bring a Tuscan Feel to Your Kitchen Without Remodeling

It is easy to bring a Tuscan ambiance to your kitchen. A primary aspect of Tuscan decorating is to bring nature inside. That can be achieved by placing bowls of fresh fruit on your counter or tabletop. You can also do this with plants. Place plants in large rustic planters on the floor, pots on your windowsill or placed in plant stands. Fresh flowers in metal or ceramic vases are another way to bring nature into your kitchen.

Another way to express a Tuscan feel in your kitchen is to bring the warm colors of nature into the space. For example, paint the walls a warm shade of yellow. Introduce other colors of nature with your accessories. Ceramic plates in rich, warm colors hung in decorative plate holders on the wall, displayed on the counter or in a glass cabinet are another great way to add an Old World touch to your kitchen. Wall art, such as a wrought iron clock or wall grill, and rustic framed art are other great touches. A farmhouse table covered with a green or rust colored tablecloth, or place mats and matching napkins will further enhance the look. Overall, a Tuscan feel can easily be added to your existing kitchen through careful use of color and accessories. For more ideas visit
