Go Green For The Holidays

Its time to decorate for the holidays so do it GREEN!

Tip 1: Everyday decorative wall planters take on a festive look when you dress them up with necklaces of tinsel and ornaments.

Tip 2: Fill your decorative trays with citrus fruit to create a unique holiday display.  You can include lemons, limes, kumquats and clementines.  Layer miniature glass ornaments among the fruit to finish the look.  Display them on an accent table, coffee table or fireplace mantel.

Tip 3:  Create a starry nights' Chanukah by putting a Menorah in the center of your mantel nestled into a fresh greenery garland.  Try sprigs of fragrant juniper and cedar for a lush look that smells wonderful.  Add to it with a star of David garland made from blue and white paper.  Thread the stars on a length of silver ribbon and tuck it into the greenery.

Holiday Entertaining

“It’s not the quantity of the meat, but the cheerfulness of the guests, which makes the feast” Edward Hyde, essays on entertaining. Never feel overwhelmed by the cost of entertaining or the work involved. Keep the menu simple, the mood festive and cherish the time you have with family and friends.  Decorative trays and cake stands are an inexpensive way to serve and will surely catch the eye of your guests. Both can be used for serving the main course and/or dessert. Set the mood with soft lighting and candleholders, not just for your table but all around your home. Trust me, your quests will remember your beautiful home décor accessories, not the food they eat!
